Got Lots of Hugs Today
Part of the reason Zahir had our families assemble at Disney was to erase a bit of ugly history. Instead it repeated. As some you have read, my Mom dumped me after a weekend trip to the Magic Kingdom when I was five. Today a woman handed her newborn baby over to a stranger in front of our resort. I have been breaking into tears non-stop at random all day. This is NOT how I wanted our last day to go.
Zahir has been watching me like a hawk and in protective daddy mode. Grandma reminded me I don't know the whole story, Mom abandoning me saved my life. Still not what I wanted in my head. The Disney cast has been great about getting me whisked away out of sight when Z saw a breakdown coming. Baba and Mama have been clingy as well.
I told Zahir this was why I wanted to adopt or foster. There are so many children out there just dumped by their parents. Someone HAS to be willing to pick their broken hearts up and show them there IS love out there. I got lucky and survived the system, a lot don't.
We leave the Magic Kingdom in the morning. I don't think I have the heart to come back. Have to get back to the table.
Heading out to watch the Fireworks. Just Z and I... And a few thousand others.
ReplyDeleteWe are at WDW,too. Went to Animal Kingdom in the rain. Fun. A lot of animals were out during the Safari. This hug is not as long distance as usual. Safe travels.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't be a trip to Disney World without the rain. Then again Florida is a rainforest.
DeleteThanks for the hug. Rough day for all. The rest of the family was walking on glass knowing it was an anniversary. The timing just stung.

DeleteThis was my first time staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Zahir and his parents had the two bedroom suite looking out over the savannas.
He was grateful I am quiet by nature now.
Zahir and I spent most of the time looking at how things were put together. Kind of nice dating a fellow geek.
Thanks to the use of a known paint chip and our new cameras, I think we have the formula for Disney's no-see-um green. The greenish brown color they paint everything they don't want you to see in.
I heard someone described it as a color green so boring the eye glosses over it. Not sure how much good it'll do me but it is kind of fun to try.
Yes. We are at the Boardwalk resort until Friday. Today was the Magic Kingdom. HOT day. What's up with that in November?
DeleteTomorrow, we are supposed to go to Disney Studios, but we might skip it and spend a day at the gym and shopping. We will see. Thursday, we are going to the Christmas celebration at the Magic Kingdom. Park will be at 20-percent capacity. Looking forward to it.
